Minus a rare circumstance that must be alleged, once a full order of protection has expired it becomes non appealable under the mootness doctrine. This basically creates an environment where once the order of protection has lapsed it is over. However, this does not necessarily preclude you from having another order of protection put in place. This is why it is necessary to have a competent and experienced attorney by your side.
Please fill out the form to the side if you are in need of an order of protection and allow the Clarke & Hill Law Office to navigate you through these trying times.

Below is the excerpt of the case

Statutory Exception to Mootness Inapplicable
Expiration of full order renders appeal subject to dismissal under mootness doctrine. Exception for post-submittal mootness does not apply when order expired before argument. Statute makes exception if appellant alleges “significant collateral consequences by the mere existence of such full order of protection after its expiration [.]” Appellant made no such allegation, so appeal is dismissed.
